Our data comes from KLIPS 2. It is essential that our teaching evaluation is based on complete, correct data, which means we have to rely on you to do your part.
It is also your responsibility to make sure the information you enter on the KLIPS 2 system is correct, especially course titles, names of teaching staff and email addresses. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the data at a later date. The middle of the second registration period (15.03./ 15.09. respectively) marks our deadline for drawing our last information from KLIPS 2. Unfortunately, changes that are made by you at a later point in time cannot be considered anymore. Therefore, please take note, that the information will be transferred on the evaluation documents exactly as they are entered on KLIPS 2 at this time point.

What has changed since the introduction of the full evaluation in the 2015 spring term?
The changes to teaching evaluation mainly concern the procedure and the selection of the courses to be evaluated.
A professional evaluation software package (EvaSys) has been rolled out, making it possible to evaluate all courses on a module basis.
Some changes have been made to the layout and structure of the questionnaires, due to the requirements of the new software, but their content has not been changed.
The questionnaires are now sent to the email address entered on KLIPS 2. The teachers forward the access data to the students. The results are automatically saved in EvaSys.
The evaluation takes place on a module basis. In other words, the quality of the module as a whole, not individual courses that are part of it, is of paramount interest.
How does the evaluation process work?
The documents you need to be able to conduct the survey will be sent to you in good time via the email address you have entered on KLIPS 2. Therefore, please check your mail address on a regular basis. Please only enter a current email address on KLIPS 2. Forward the access data (QR code and access link) to the students.
Carry out the survey in the last two to three weeks of the course. You can choose the exact date yourself.
The questionnaires are automatically evaluated by us.
Afterwards, you will receive (by email) an evaluation of the data in a PDF results report.
At the end of term, the overall rankings for all courses will be uploaded to the “Evaluation of teaching” section of our website for you to read.

I have received teaching evaluations but not for each of my courses. What could be the reason for that?
Option 1: We send out the access data for evaluations at two different times each lecture period. Depending on the end date of courses, which is drawn from the stored data in Klips 2.0, the courses are divided into midterm and longterm courses. For identified Midterm courses, evaluations are sent in April (summer term) and October (winter term). For identified Longterm courses, evaluations are sent in May/June (summer term) and December/January (winter term). Thus, the same instructor may receive evaluations at different times.
Option 2: Sometimes the evaluation is sent to another teacher who is also stored in Klips.
Evaluation procedure
I give a course but I haven’t received a questionnaire. Why?
Please check the information entered on KLIPS 2 for your course. Since we draw our data from KLIPS 2, we send the questionnaires for each course automatically to the email address held there. Even if your course is delivered by several teaching staff, we are only able to send the questionnaire to one person due to technical reasons. We therefore send it to the faculty member responsible for the module.

I would like to modify the questionnaire. Is that allowed?
We can only use certain types of questionnaire for the evaluation. Individual modifications are not possible, unfortunately. If you wish to obtain individualised feedback the questionnaire contains two open questions.
Please note, that you as a lecturer yourself are responsible for an evaluation of the open questions that is conform with our data protection directives. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
What is the minimum number of students required for an evaluation?
At least five students are required.
My course is delivered by several teaching staff. Is it possible for each of them to have their own questionnaire?
There are no provisions for individual evaluation since our evaluation concentrates on the quality of the courses, not the people teaching them. If the course has been entered in KLIPS 2 as one course with several lecturers, it can only be evaluated once.
Why have I received two identical questionnaires for the same course?
It may happen that you receive two questionnaires for the same course if the course is listed twice on Klips 2: One for the regular students and one for incomings. Please only use one of the two questionnaires in this case and do not evaluate the course separetely for these two groups.
Is there a deadline for the evaluation of my course?
The survey period runs until an individual date, which will be communicated to you in the e-mail with the access data. This date is based on the midterm events and the end of the lecture period (exceptions are block events during the lecture-free period). Accordingly, your evaluation should take place at the latest in the last hour of the course that takes place before the notified end date. However, you can send us an e-mail at any time to change the end date.
Evaluation
When and how do I receive the evaluation?
After evaluating all the returned questionnaires, you will receive the evaluation of your questionnaire at the end of the semester (30.09./ 31.03. respectively). We send the evaluations automatically in the form of PDF reports via our system to the teaching staff named in KLIPS 2.
I completed the survey for my course but I haven’t received an evaluation. Why?
An evaluation is not possible if we received less than five completed questionnaires for your course.
If your questionnaires couldn't be evaluated you will receive an email from us at the end of the semester.
